SEASON 1 - Ep.03 London Bridge is falling down!

London Bridge is falling down! 😱 What on earth is Hammersmith Bridge? Why is it such a big deal? And why does this story now involve ferries?! The bridge is one of many which allows you to cross over the famous river Thames and is an important part of many people’s journeys to work and to school – including mine! All the way back in 2014, they started to find issues that needed to be fixed. And apparently, for years there were rumours that they were closing the bridge, and then one day it really happened! It was April 2019 when the bridge closed to cars so ONLY cyclists and pedestrians were allowed. Despite the initial grumbling parents and children decided to look on the bright side as they promised to reopen it soon… but unexpectedly only two weeks before school started back after summer, on 13th August 2020, Transport for London announced the full closure of the bridge with the reopening date to be confirmed. So let’s go to our first guest from the north side of the river to hear about his experience…
